1. Try another cable and adapter first
Cheap or worn cables are the #1 reason phones stop charging. Test with a known-good charger — ideally USB-C PD or the original brick for your model.

2. Clean lint and dust from the charging port

3. Check for a swollen or failing battery

4. Heat and heavy use while charging

5. Software glitches
Restart the phone. On Android, try a different charging mode (some Tecno/Infinix models have charge-boost settings). On iPhone, check for iOS updates.
If the port works intermittently, hardware is more likely than software.
6. Liquid or moisture in the port
Rain, spills, or humidity can corrode contacts. Do not charge a wet phone. Dry it upright for several hours; if it still fails, professional cleaning or port replacement may be needed.
